About the Academies
NEF Grant is 100%. You pay a registration fee of $290/student
U.S. students are ranked in the bottom 30% in STEM education globally
To provide world-class academic (mapped to every state’s standards) and applicational STEM+ education to a million K-12 students, especially the disadvantaged, to prepare them for college and the 21st century jobs
Any school district/school with 35% or more students on free/reduced cost meals, girls schools, minority schools; Others pay a higher fee.
Ongoing. Grants are awarded to the first 200 applicants.
Performance Results: Students can advance a grade level in math (same for reading) during the school year, in 25-35 learning hours.
Every High School/Career Tech student can earn SUNY certificates at no additional fee
With NEF providing 100% grant, your cost is $290 per student. Funds can come from Title I, Stimulus, other Federal, state, foundation, and other sources.

- Individualized learning
- Performance tracking by SUNY
- Awards for students, teachers and academy directors
